What is Solar Energy?

Solar energy is one of the most promising alternative sources of energy today and will continue to be so in the future.

This is because it is an efficient and inexpensive source of energy for the generation of clean and renewable energy, being viable using solar panels that convert the radiation of sunlight into electricity.

Solar panels, for example, convert sunlight into electrical energy that can be used to generate electricity or be stored in batteries or thermal storage.

How do solar panels work?

In general, when photons, coming from the sun’s rays, hit the cells of solar panels, which are usually made of silicon, it releases electrons from its atoms.

The electrons then flow towards the cell and eventually generate electricity, which will be used, fed into the grid, or stored in a battery.
